"My name is Dora, and I am an 11 month-old Boston Terrier cross born without the use of my back legs.  Two young kids tried to give me a home but realized they were unable to handle the kind of responsibility that comes with a handicapped puppy. So, they decided to put me to sleep. I wasn't tired, but they said I had to go to sleep anyway.

Lucky for me, fate stepped in and I am still awake and looking for my forever home. My foster mom bought me a doggie wheelchair and I am trying to get the hang of it. But, I am sure with a lot of practice I will be able to go on walks and maybe even run like the wind."

Born in a woodpile just as the temperatures started dropping, an elderly lady brought Emma inside against the protests of her grumpy husband. When the kindly woman died, her husband didn't waste a minute tossing Emma back out into the cold. From across the street, a neighbor watched the drama unfold and brought her into Animeals. Shelter life doesn't compare to having a forever home.

This long-haired calico beauty has a very sweet personality and an adorable method of eating. You will find yourself ooh-ing and ah-ing as she scoops her food up with her paw and eats it that way. Dolly has a lot of love to give!

Lollipop is a complete sweetheart and gets along well with dogs and other cats. Though she is shy at first, it doesn't take much to earn her trust. She is a little on the hefty side, so a healthy family would suit her best.

He put them in the bedroom and stuffed a towel under the door, sealing it shut. A single piece of tape held their medical records eye-level so that whoever found him in the morning would know about his pets. Then he walked into the kitchen and turned on the gas. Tired of living, Chyna and Fifi's owner surrendered himself to the longest sleep, but he knew that he couldn't take his cats with him. He loved them more than he loved himself. Emaciated and matted, she was found underneath a trailer house with her six newborn kittens. She fought against the elements to protect them and herself, her boldness securing their survival. Her kitties were cute as buttons, and most of them have found loving homes. Now it is their mother who waits each day for someone to come and care for her.
