Kitty Camp Facts

Kitty Camp is Tuesday through Friday, 9 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.  We do not provide before or after care as we do not have the staff or the facilities to supervise children after camp is over; therefore Campers participating in the day’s activities must be at AniMeals promptly at 9:00 A.M. and it is very important that you pick your Camper up on time, at 3:30 P.M. The parent/guardian (or those individuals designated on your registration form) must sign your Camper in and out each day.

What is included in the registration fee?

Camp registration fee includes one healthy snack daily, camp T-shirt, AniMeals piggy bank, car decal, educational handouts and Camp Completion Certificate. You must select a T-shirt size and place your order on the registration application. T-shirts will be handed out on the first day of camp.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing is important! All Campers must wear socks and closed toe shoes with rubber soles (no sandals, Crocs, or dress shoes), and pants that extend past the knee. Campers should dress for active stretching and sometimes messy activities. We ask that campers do not wear anything that they don’t want ruined. Please dress appropriately for the weather and during the hot summer months sunscreen is strongly suggested as we will be both inside and outside during the day. For safety reasons, please do not wear dangling jewelry.

What should I bring with me?

We ask that all campers bring a labeled, refillable water bottle, one healthy snack and a sack lunch of non perishable food as refrigeration is not available. AniMeals will supply the morning snack. Please label all belongings and clothing with your Camper’s name or initials. Please do not bring anything of value to Camp. Campers may bring cell phones, but they should be used for emergency purposes only. AniMeals is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.

What will we do?

Each Camper will be assigned to their own kitty condo where they will take care of all aspects of the shelter daily routine with their feline partners, but that is only one part of the camp experience. Kitty Camp also includes lots of other animal-related activities, such as critter crafts, learning activities and service projects for the animals. Time in our adoption center is closely monitored, to ensure the safety of all animals and Campers.

Behavioral Expectations for Kitty Camp

• Calm, appropriate behavior around animals; do not pursue an animal if they walk away or hide
• Soft voices around animals, or normal speaking voices both inside and outside
• Follow the directions of staff and Leaders
• Treat others with kindness and respect
• Choose kind and appropriate words
• Attempt all Camp activities to the best of your ability
• Hands are for helping, not hurting (and wash them thoroughly before lunch!)
• Walk at all times inside the building
• Pick up after yourself (supplies returned to bins, trash/recycling disposed of, etc).

• Follow the Kitty Camp dress code every day

We have a zero tolerance policy regarding fighting, bullying, put downs, theft or vandalism, and harmful treatment of animals. Acts of this nature are grounds for immediate dismissal with forfeiture of registration fee.

What is our cancellation policy?

Registration fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend you may offer your registration to a friend of the same age. We are unable to offer refunds if your child is unable to attend.

Can I adopt an animal during camp?

You cannot adopt an animal during your camp session. It is easy to become attached to an animal during camp before you and your family has had a chance to thoroughly think it over. We would be happy for you to come back and visit the animals that are up for adoption after your camp session is over.
